While Hank and I were dating we went to place called Cove Haven in the Poconos. Its a couples resort stuck in the 70s and it was sooooo old school. The best part was that they take it so seriously. They weren’t trying to be funny, this place was for REAL!
We arrived and there was seriously no one else there…the whole resort was ours. When we got to our room, the first thing we noticed was there were no windows and no clocks. It was like a cave haha. So basically their goal is for you to forget about the time, and forget about what’s going on in the outside world, which wasn’t hard to do since it was like we were time warped into a different decade!!!
The room also had a heart shaped jacuzzi, a pool, mirrors all around the bed and a bottle of champagne with a plastic cork waiting for us. The bed was of course round and Hank barely fit on it…his legs were hanging off the edge lololol. One of my favorite memories from the trip was the night when Hank got up and was trying to find his way back to the bed, but because there were no windows and it was pitch black, he walked smack into a pillar in the middle of the room and all I heard was the loudest thump as he hit the ground! I was just laughing my ass off!!!! lololol
We did every single activity the place had to offer and barely showered the entire week lol. We did archery, fed deer, went ice skating (Hank had to wear knee pads and wrist pads haha), and TRIED to go mountain biking. They gave us these oooold school bikes without gears and the second we got to a hill we both just shook our heads and turned around haha. We also took a horse and buggy ride which basically went around a cul de sac.
One of the nights we played sex trivia with the other couples staying there and they were all at least 40 years older than us! There was an MC who was asking everyone how long they had been together. People were shouting out “30 years” and “50 years” and “25 years” and I just shouted out “7 months!!!!!!” lololol
This trip was one of the funniest and most unique experiences of my life and it really made us fall in love. You have to be with your best friend to go to a place like this…we were just laughing the entire time! If I could recommend any trip for a couple to take, I would definitely tell them to go here!!! I’m telling you, this place was the best!!! All we had was each other and just so many good laughs!

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. Hope you have an easy delivery! I had a baby girl in feb. She is my first. I got an epidural and it wasn’t bad at all! I would definitely suggest you get one too! Being a mom is the best thing in the whole world! Congrats!

My parents went there for their honeymoon in the 60’s. From the pictures it still looks the same!
Thank You for sharing your vacation with all of us that is a place I would love for me and my Hubby to go its nice that we had our children young we took them on vacation all over the world now they are all grown up with children of their own and I’m only 50 so now we are doing the same with our grandchildren we have 4 three girls and 1 grandson and I can’t think of god giving us anything more better in the world they are so much fun I can’t wait til you and Hank have you Son you are going to make great parents take care.

My husband and I went to the Pocono Palace by Cesars! We had a blast. There was actually people there our own age so it wasn’t to bad! We are an athletic couple so we played basketball, raquetball, went snowmobiling (it was February for our anniversary) and shot alot of pool! We had a blast getting away for the 2 days!
Don’t you just love that room so do we but at night you have to leave the bathroom light on….Cove Haven is the best we go like 2 to 3 times a year..We been their 48 times….

OMG Kendra! This is where my honey moon was.. I loved it. they had all kinds of fun things to do.. They had the newlywed game, the contest where you put the balloon between you and your honey and try not to pop it! and no matter where you were, somebody was taking your picture and you could buy them at Breakfast!!!

OMG! My husband and I also went to this place. It is EXACTLY as you describe it. My husband and I went there to meet for a romantic weekend. I got there first and waited for him to arrive (we were coming in from separate locations).
Anyway – I had to go to dinner the first night without him. Let me tell you, all the couples at my dinner table were looking at me like I was there for some threesome action. TOO FUNNY!
We had a round bed also. How about all the little twinkle lights in the ceiling above the bed? Did you have those?

My boyfriend and I went to Cove Haven 2 years ago and we had so much fun. It was probably the best vacation we took together too because it was pretty much empty. We played all these games and did most of the activities. We stayed in the room with a pool a sauna and heart shaped jacuzzi. It had no windows which freaked us ou at first, but you don’t even notice them after awhile. Had a great time and glad to see that did too
I went as well- I can’t beleive all this people liked it! We went here for a honeymoon and I thought it was down right creepy! You had to eat dinner with 3 other couples. Awkward! And it wasn’t updated and the drinks were super expensive. We even hightailed out there a day early to get out of there.

My hubby & I honeymooned @ Caesars Paradise Stream in 1983 & have stayed there & @ Pocono Palace many times since. In fact, we are long-time members of their “Forever Lovers” program. We love it! They don’t call the Apple “the cave” for nothing as you & Hank found out, lol!
Two of our faves are the Champagne Towers & the Fantasy Apple. Never been to Cove Haven.

Let me tell you something girl…….you haven’t been anywhere!! All of upstate NY & PA is like back in the 60’s!!!!
We stayed in a Motel in PA that hasn’t been updated since the 60’s with the brown paneling & the pink tiles in the bathroom!!
The “NO SMOKING” sign was on the door, but when you walked in it reeked of of old NICOTINE!!!!!!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!
The owner was about 95 & she had a breathing problem….
They said at the local shops that she is supposed to like in the house (mansion) on top of the hill (mountain), but she can’t run up at down it any more when someone needs her at the motel, so she sleeps behind the partition that is behind the desk. UGH!!!

Isn’t that an amazing place. My family has had a cabin on Lake Wallenpaupack for 50 years and each summer we always take our boat for a drive by cove haven on the lake. Wonderful place and glad you enjoyed it!!!
